What Are Interstate Wars?
Interstate wars are armed conflicts between two or more internationally recognized state governments. They differ from civil wars (within a single state) and extra-state wars (between a state and a non-state entity). This dataset covers conflicts from the Napoleonic era through modern times.
Major Conflicts in the Dataset
The dataset includes some of the most significant conflicts in modern history: World War I (1914–1918), World War II (1939–1945), the Korean War (1950–1953), the Six-Day War (1967), the Falklands War (1982), and the Gulf War (1990–1991), among many others.
